As everyone has dreams and goals they wish to accomplish, they also know that work needs to be done in order to achieve that goal. You can’t just dream and expect everything to go the way you want, it doesn’t work that way at all. Mainly in athletics, there are some athletes that are talented than others and stand out more. Then you have the athletes that are hard workers, but aren’t nearly as talented.
The talented athletes sometimes cruise by with their talent and everything is great. The hard workers have to give more effort and do something spectacular to get noticed. I’m not knocking nobody because this only occurs 5-10% percent of the time, but when does it occur, it’s very troubling to see. In Reality, 90% percent of the population on earth aren’t athletic and everybody does something to differentiate themselves in the crowd. In Basketball , there are tons of players who have talent but don’t work hard because they rely on their talent so much.
In Life, you gotta Grind for your dreams and goals because it’s not going to be handed to you. Nothing in life is free, if someone tells you otherwise, they’re flat-out lying.
I have my dream of Playing in The NBA, but it will take a lot more than work. God got me all the way. In conclusion, Talent is the most important factor and doesn’t matter how hard the person works, Talent in the end will always override hard work. Its that simple.
This post shares a lot of great truths. You can be lucky enough to be talented at something but if you take that gift for granted, others will surely pass you. On the other hand, if your talent is not that great but your hard work and passion are there, you will eventually be successful also and even more so than talented people who don’t put in the same effort.

“Dreams don’t work unless you do” is a quote i love to remember and live by. Which is so true! So i agree, you can’t just dream all these things and expect to just get handed everything. You have to work hard, and if you really want it, that’s usually not a problem. this was very inspirational! thanks for reading!

So true, I know so many talented athletes that destroyed their careers because they just cruised by since they are talented it’s the one that actually put in the work that become successful.

What you said is really true. I’ve also constantly witnessed school mates who are really talented but lazy and wouldn’t do as well in school and the ones who are truly hard working yet really not talented would almost always do way better.

A lot of people will say they want something, yet they don’t put in the effort to achieve their wants. Work hard and reward harder is a quote I love

I couldn’t agree more with this statement, it’s taken me two years to get my blog and youtube to the point where I can finally dos it as a full time career and it’s taken such hard work and commitment to get to where I am today…A lot of friends and other bloggers have admired the persistence as I think a lot of bloggers just give up and stop posting! Hard work always pays off!

I completely agree, for example if you know you are good at dancing but don’t work hard at it then it says a lot about your character. You should work hard to achieve great things x

This is great, and very true! I think working hard will always get you where you need to be. Those who rely solely on their talents will one day come a cropper, and have nothing at all to fall back on!

I don’t think you should separate talent and hard work. Maybe those who are talented make their hard work look easy. I find the most talented people are the most hardworking. But I really admire those who have to work harder due to not having a natural talent at something.

You are right, nothing in life is free and you will have to work for it. Talent can be a big help but sometimes things can happen and you won’t be able to rely on it anymore, but hard work is always possible.

Great and to the point. We have to work hard to achieve our goals.

Talent is a blessing, however if you don’t put in the work to utilize it, it means nothing. Great post!

Great post! I’ve known a few people in my life who had incredible talent, but quickly realized talent alone isn’t enough to carry you through. One has to have a strong work ethic backing them up if they’re going to put their talent to the best use!

This is so accurate and I can totally relate. Hard work pays off and relying on talent alone is tough.

I agree. If you have a talent you should work hard and stand out and thrive. It’s a pity to waste a talent – especially in sports – out of laziness!

That so great point! We should separate talent and hard work. I totally agree: “Hard work beats talent”! Have a nice weekend!

I absolutely believe this to be true! Talent might get you started but in the end work ethic and perserverence will win out when it comes to the best of the best — especially because anyone who’s made it that far probably has any relevant talent.

I totally agree. So many people have talents that others could only dream of but they lack the ambition, drive and motivation that others have. I guess some people are lazy, or they’re still creating a plan!

You do have to work towards great things in your life. And you have to keep up with the things you are talented or those talents will go away.

I agree that you have to work hard to achieve something in life. It’s so sad if people waste their talent by not working to stay on top of their game. Also, keep up the hard work, and your dream will come true.

It’s all about acting on the things that you want in life. If you don’t move nothing’s going to happen no matter how good you are. This makes total sense.

If you want it, you gotta be the one to make it happen. You can’t be lazy and unproactive, you have to work hard for something, no matter how talented you are!

This is the strict true. Too many people nowadays thinks all you have to do is show yourself on web to be successful. Nope. Work is always the answer!

Wow, such an incredible post. Yeah, I do believe that in every dream/goal, you have to work hard for it. It’s not given for free.

Being a student athlete I can completely relate and understand your post and the truth it holds! I feel like up until college talent can get you pretty far but once you reach college and beyond everyone is talented so it is definitely going to be hard work and passion that sets someone apart.

I agree with you, talent isn’t everything and if you don’t work hard for your dreams and goals you might never reach them. Working hard is at the base of everything.

It’s so true, hard work with less talent will take you further than talent and laziness will. Lucky for those of us with not so much talent!

In the end at the highest levels, I agree that hard work will beat out the talent, because you have some amount of talent to begin with. It’s for those who are not talented that hard work cannot overcome the lack of talent either.

Of course the best combination is “work hard” AND talent. But of course, it’s not enough to have talent because the world is not waiting for you, you need give 100% to achieve your goals.

Hard work will always trump talent if the talent in question is taking their talent for granted. I like to work super hard.

This was an interesting read and I agree with you 100%. You can apply this to anything in life, work, family life, hobbies etc. In order to get great things in life or for things to go the way you want them, you have to put in the work. Sometimes it’s hard, but you have to push through and do it 🙂

Stay true to your dreams and work your grind… Sure, some folks cruise through life and get by with minimal effort. Eventually, it does catch up somehow. My take is to focus on your game as that is what matters. All the best on your NBA dream and journey1 ❤

You need to put in the hard work these days just to get anywhere with life. My daughter wants to go far with Gymnastics and now she is 11, its really hard, but she’s very determined to be the best!!

I think hard work will always win out! Yes, you can have a natural talent for something but if you’re lazy then you’re unlikely to succeed if people don’t think you’ll work hard enough. Great post!

I’m really glad that you’re taking the time to discuss this issue! i’m not an athlete so I can’t relate to that but I am an artist and I know the despite my talent I wouldn’t have gotten anywhere without all that hard work, 2am late nights getting work done to meet my deadlines, etc. I also believe that it is those who work hard that appreciate their talents more! Thanks for a great post!

I’ve commented before but it said it didn’t work! so I’ve commented again with the same thing! so sorry if there is duplicate i just wanted to make sure it got posted! Not being an athlete I can’t relate to that but being an artist I know that despite my talent I wouldn’t have gotten anywhere, had no successes without hard work. I’m a strong believer that hard work makes your talent better and it is those who work hard who appreciate their talents more. 🙂

This is so true. I am forever telling my kids off for being complacent. It doesn’t matter how good you are, if you don’t put the effort in you’ll go nowhere.

This is true! It’s not wise to rely on your talent and never work to improve because you never know the levels you could get to if you just keep working a little bit harder on your self. Excellent point, thanks for sharing!

So important to put in a hard work, I hate when people think they are automatically entitled to achievements and not work for it.

I’ve always had this philosophy in my life – from sports to studying at school. I’ve never felt like I’m naturally the most gifted or talented person, but my strong will, determination, and hard work have allowed me to succeed at so many things. Great piece of writing, my friend.

I can absolutely relate to this. I know many people who dream big but never get anything accomplished because they think they ‘deserve it’. What i tell them is that they only deserve it if they have done anything in their power and have actually WORKED for what they want.
