It’s really hard being a professional basketball player. When you’re a superstar, the stakes are higher and the pressure is intense. Kevin Durant is a all-time great basketball player. Since he was drafted 2nd overall in 2007, he’s been nothing but spectacular.
He’s been the rookie of the year, All-Rookie first team, All-NBA first team five times, All-NBA second team twice. All-star MVP, and 2x Finals MVP. As well as the 2014 MVP and an 10 time all star. Kevin is a once in a lifetime player because he’s 7 feet with handles, a shot, can finish and is clutch. He’s also a great person, does charitable acts around the world/community. He came from Humble beginnings to Superstardom.
Kevin moved to Golden State because he wanted change, wanted a championship. he wanted to get the monkey off his back and prove his critics wrong as well. Everybody goes through changes in life. To be a better you, You need to accept change. Evolvement is essential to growing as a person. Kevin wanted to go somewhere to get him that elusive ring he always wanted.
People really need to understand this point very clearly: You’re not a NBA Player or have a MVP, You’re not earning millions of dollars or have a fan-base like Kevin does. It’s his life, not yours his! you can’t tell him what to do, are you his mom or live with him? half of ya’ll ain’t even athletic and are hating on a man doing good in life. Honestly, who cares? Focus on your average life which is dull and boring.
Everyone has emotions, but when you’re an athlete, you can’t show it? It doesn’t work like that. He is human being like the rest of us and experiences the same things. Real HOOPERS know this, it is casual fans, media members that don’t know this.
Kevin doesn’t care what you think, you can tweet at him or call him whatever you want. The one thing you can’t deny is that he’s a NBA Champion and Finals MVP.
KD, I have been a fan of yours for a long time, and you inspire and motivate so much. Hopefully, one day I accomplish my childhood dream of playing in the NBA and get a chance to meet you in person.
I agree that the Kevin Durant hate is ridiculous and needs to stop. We are all created to push ourselves and improve, and anyone who gives Mr. Durant a hard time about that needs to take a seat on the bench.

KD is an pretty amazing player and I respected him for leaving GS to accept a new challenge.
I think he wanted a championship ring the old fashioned way,he wants to earn it instead of being cobbled on a player created “super team”. Good post here.

He’s a great player, but we’re a Celtics fan and a Bucks fan.

It’s crazy to me how many people judge others and even hate them when they don’t know them at all. Everyone is doing their best in life and wants to succeed. We need more people in the world to lift others up and stand behind them when they are struggling.

A great post and one that needs to be shared. I will never understand how people can be so unkind and hate on other people for their choices.

The bottom line to all of this is simple in my mind… people who have nothing better to do than to say negative things about another person is they are showing how ‘jealous’ they are of that person’s success. Kevin Durant is a legend… Thanks for sharing.

I don’t know who this person is or anything about basketball really but I think this situation arises in a lot of sports. Great insight into a really rubbish situation!
