During the Basketball Season, a lot of things occurred that was major and unprecedented. To begin, this past summer , Kevin Durant left Oklahoma City to the Golden State Warriors for a two deal worth $60 million. This was written in The Player’s Tribune when the decision was made. His decision was met with major backlash and criticism by many because he left a team that was up 3-1 in the Western Conference Finals to a 73-win team. He flourished throughout the Regular Season and ended up as a NBA Champion and Finals MVP. Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder averaged a triple double for the regular season (30 PPG, 10.0 RPG, 10.0 APG) and willed them to the playoffs. This hasn’t been done since Oscar Robertson of 1960’s. he’s in a race for MVP with James Harden of the Houston Rockets who’s nearly averaged a triple double for the regular season (29.2 PPG, 7.3 RPG, 11.2 APG) and led the rockets to the second round of the playoffs. Damian Lillard of the Portland Trailblazers had a career year in 2016-2017 ( 27.0 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 6.0 APG) but he wasn’t named a All-star for the 3rd straight year and willed his team to the playoffs even when people said they wouldn’t repeat the same success they had last year. Dwayne Wade returned to his hometown to join the Chicago Bulls with a top 25 player in Jimmy Butler. He led them to the playoffs where they lost to the Celtics in 6 games. Isaiah Thomas of the Boston Celtics had a breakout season being named a All-Star for the second straight time and averaging 29 PPG, 3.0 RPG, 6.0 APG. He led the celtics to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in 7 years on a heavy heart because his sister Chyna Thomas died in a car crash. lastly, Lebron James went to his 8th straight NBA Finals, which is unbelievable. unfortunately for him, although he did average a triple double for the finals which is out of this world, he did lose the Warriors in 5 games. The Warriors had the better team overall.

I’m not a big sports buff, but did watch the final game. After Kobe, I think Lebron is my next fave player. Other than that I think the best team did win.

I watched a basketball game once here where I live and I must say it’s much more delighted to watch it at stadium than on TV.. It’s great to know more about the players especially those the key players.

It was definitely an interesting basketball season with all that was going on. I am sure that it will be an interesting year this next year as people try to respond to what the Warriors did last offseason.

We didn’t watch any basketball this time. Not professional anyway. I don’t really stay up to date myself, however my husband is good at breaking down some highlights for me. 😊 I really think I would like to go to a professional game once. Just to experience.

My husbands father used to play basket ball when he was a young man in his twenties. However it is very much a secondary school game in Ireland. It is not one of the national games that is played professionally in this country. Hurling , gaelic football and rugby are the most important games here.

Basketball is a well-loved sport here in the Philippines. Aside from boxing, almost all people are crazy about basketball.

I must admit that I’m a complete novice when it comes to basketball (in fact when it comes to most sports- it’s really not my forte) but the enthusiasm that comes through your writing makes it fun for me to read despite my lack of knowledge!
