Why Doubt, Critics, Naysayers are great motivators in Sports

You hear the chatter going on. This occurs in the NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB, etc.  In basketball specifically, when you are undersized like under 6 feet, things are really tough on you. It is very hard to make it to the NBA, but if you have the drive and the resolve , there is a good chance you will land on a NBA Roster. I know about the statistics and the odds. that doesn’t deter my dreams of  playing professional basketball either way.

I look at Isaiah Thomas, 60th pick of the 2011 draft who all his life has been doubted and overlooked, become a 2-time all-star. I look at Tyler Ulis, a point guard out of Kentucky who everyone said wouldn’t be a 1st round pick. he is striving in the league right now. I look at Stephen Curry, 7th pick of the 2009 draft, who many thought as only a shooter, become a 2-time MVP, 2-time NBA championship, one of the greatest shooters in NBA history and one of the best point guards of this generation. I also look at Damian Lillard, 6th pick in the 2012 draft who many didn’t give much thought to. he has become a 2-time all-star, rookie of the year, and one of the best point guards in the league today.

My Main point is this, don’t listen to the critics or naysayers. most of what they say isn’t accurate. they try to say, ”this is facts” but it is not. Miracles happen each and everyday, anything can happen. They go with the favorite and when the team loses, they are surprised and shocked out of their minds. when they count you out, work harder and don’t apologize for it. Nobody knows everything, no matter how much of an expert they proclaim to be. Always Believe, Always!!  Don’t listen to the outside noise, they don’t know what is coming.
